(2015) : Power in Society In: Wright, James D.: International Encyclopedia of the Social & Behavioral Sciences (Second Edition): Oxford: Elsevier, S. 765-769
Abstract: Power has been seen as an ‘essentially contested’ concept. Some of the major recent contours of this contestation will be addressed in this article. The argument is that power is a concept whose meaning is variable in different language games and that it is important to be clear which concepts, from which language games, one is using in inquiry.
