(2016): Developing professional values. Perceptions of francophone occupational therapists in Quebec, Canada. In: Scandinavian journal of occupational therapy 23 (4), S. 286-296. DOI: 10.3109/11038128.2015.1130168
DOI: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26824179 Abstract: Objective Recent literature shows growing interest in the values displayed by occupational therapists. Yet, none of these writings has so far examined the factors that contribute to the development of occupational therapists' professional values. These factors are important, since values play a pivotal role in forging professional identity, which in the case of some occupational therapists remains somewhat ambiguous. This article proposes possible answers to the following question: What do Quebec Francophone occupational therapists perceive as the building blocks of their professional values? Methods Using a phenomenological qualitative method, the subjective experience of occupational therapists in Quebec, Canada was examined. Twenty-six occupational therapists took part in the study. Results As intended, their professional experience was varied. According to the participants, four factors contributed significantly to their professional values: professional experience, university training, personal experience, and professional development. However, fewer than 50% of the participants cited six other factors (workplace, family upbringing, personal development, personality and abilities, professional normative framework, and sociocultural background). Conclusions Most of these results are consistent with those documented in existing works. They point to the relevance of discussing professional values during university training and continuing professional development, as well as encouraging occupational therapists to become exemplars for their colleagues and interns. This study constitutes an initial step in understanding how occupational therapists' axiological identity is formed.

(2016): On the Importance of Family, Morality, Masculine, and Feminine Honor for Theory and Research. In: Social and Personality Psychology Compass 10 (8), S. 431-442. DOI: 10.1111/spc3.12262
DOI: https://doi.org/10.1111/spc3.12262 Abstract: This paper presents an approach to honor as multifaceted. In this approach, honor is defined as having four different facets, or honor codes: morality‐based honor, family honor, masculine honor, and feminine honor. The honor‐as‐multifaceted approach has generated much psychological research examining the importance of each honor code across different cultural and social groups. An overview of this research shows that that the different honor codes exert a powerful influence on a variety of group processes, including collective action, in‐group identification, the definition of gendered roles within the family, in‐group responses to threats to collective honor, intergroup attitudes, and value change within groups. The paper discusses how defining and measuring honor as multifaceted ‐rather than as an unitary construct‐ provides a fuller understanding of honor's role in group life. (2015): Young Women’s Anger in Romantic Relationships. Gendered Rules and Power. In: Journal of Family Issues 38 (13), S. 1825-1851. DOI: 10.1177/0192513X15592029
DOI: https://doi.org/10.1177/0192513X15592029 Abstract: We used a social constructionist and feminist framework to examine how young women negotiate gendered rules for anger in their romantic relationships and how such negotiations are associated with women’s power in these relationships. We analyzed 24 interviews using a grounded-theory methodology. Our analyses indicated five women resisted gendered rules for anger as they accepted their anger, attributed shared responsibility for their anger, and expressed their anger externally and directly. The other 19 young women followed gendered rules for anger as they distanced themselves from their anger, ambivalently attributed responsibility for their anger, and kept their anger in and expressed it indirectly. Women who resisted gendered rules for anger narrated being engaged in egalitarian relationships, while women who followed gendered rules for anger seemed to participate in nonegalitarian relationships. The findings of this study offer a feminist conceptualization of women⍊ s ange r in terms of social rules for anger experience and expression. (2013): Familie und Gender. In: unsere jugend 65 (7+8), S. 324-331. DOI: 10.2378/uj2013.art30d
Abstract: Thema der Studie sind Arbeitsteilungsmuster in modernen Familien.

(2010): Altruism and fairness. Unnatural selection?. In: Comptes rendus biologies 333 (2), S. 174-180. DOI: 10.1016/j.crvi.2009.12.005
DOI: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20338534 Abstract: Darwin admitted that the evolution of moral phenomena such as altruism and fairness, which are usually in opposition to the maximization of individual reproductive success, was not easily accounted for by natural selection. Later, authors have proposed additional mechanisms, including kin selection, inclusive fitness, and reciprocal altruism. In the present work, we explore the extent to which sexual selection has played a role in the appearance of human moral traits. It has been suggested that because certain moral virtues, including altruism and kindness, are sexually attractive, their evolution could have been shaped by the process of sexual selection. Our review suggests that although it is possible that sexual selection played such a role, it is difficult to determine the extent of its relevance, the specific form of this influence, and its interplay with other evolutionary mechanisms.

(2008) : Sozialisation im Lebenslauf In: Hurrelmann, Klaus: Handbuch Sozialisationsforschung: 7., vollst. überarb. Aufl.: Weinheim [u.a.]: Beltz (Pädagogik), S. 157-172

Abstract: The various behavioral domains of childhood social development and the most prominent domains in the socialization process are summarized, i.e., significant characteristics of immediate family members, social and societal environment, attachment behavior, parenting behavior, and couple relationship qualities. For each domain, a short state-of-the-art overview is provided, and significant relationships with the social development of children are described. It is concluded that a description of possible developmental processes calls for multivariate longitudinal studies modeling the interplay of the various domains over time, as well as the study of possible relationships or overlap between concepts in various domains, e.g., sensitivity in the domain of attachment and parenting behavior. (2006) : Moral development in early childhood and social interaction in the family: Handbook of moral development: Mahwah, NJ, US: Lawrence Erlbaum Associates Publishers, S. 331-350
Abstract: There are powerful arguments for seeing the family as the medium through which children gradually understand and appreciate wider aspects of the culture, moral judgments, and moral sensibility. There is also evidence that family experiences are related to the notable individual differences between children in their moral sensitivity and behavior. In this chapter, we consider family interaction and children's early moral development within the framework of two broad questions. First, does a focus on young children's interactions within their families provide a useful window on the nature of children's moral understanding and sensibility, and its normative development? Second, how are individual differences in children's family experiences related to differences in children's moral development? Before addressing these two broad questions, a comment on the various theoretical approaches to the relations between moral development and children's experiences within their families is in order.
